Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program
The Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program, in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin Extension Family Living Program, plans and provides FREE, community-based nutrition education programs within a university research-based context, to limited resource individuals, families and groups. A representative from WNEP provides hands-on instruction and samples at the Shelf the first Monday of each month during our regular hours of operations.

America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin (www.secondharvestwi.org)
Second Harvest is the largest private non-profit distributor of food in Wisconsin and a member of the Feeding America organization (www.feedingamerica.org). Through warehouses in Milwaukee and the Fox Valley, they distribute more than 12 million pounds of food a year to more than 1,100 pantries, meal programs and other nonprofit agencies that serve nearly 300,000 people in the eastern half of Wisconsin. HCFS benefits from these services primarily by participating in special programs they offer; i.e. Wal-Mart End of Code Program.
Feed My People (www.fmpfoodbank.org)
Feed My People Food Bank, located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is as a partner distribution outlet for Second Harvest Heartland in St. Paul, Minnesota. They are the crucial link between food manufacturers, suppliers, and the front-line agencies like the Hayward Community Food Shelf that provide direct service to the hungry. They distribute food to more than 60 agencies in the 14 counties in west central Wisconsin. HCFS receives food and other items from this agency every month. Some items are free to us while others are purchased at a greatly reduced price. By being affiliated with this group, HCFS is able to use donated funds to provide more relief to our clients.
